What to expect from the Fortnite v10.30 patch – Map changes, ziplines, and more

The Fortnite v10.30 update has not yet been announced by Epic Games, but that doesn’t mean that they haven’t already hinted at what is coming in the next patch.

As the Fortnite seasons’ progress, patches and content updates are the methods used by Epic to make changes – big or small. At the time of writing, Epic hasn’t dropped any hints regarding when the game’s next major update will go live or changed the news feed to give us word about any new features.

Yet, it already appears clear that there will be significant map changes – with the Rift Beacons becoming activated and, If leaks are to be believed, there should also be the return of some key travel elements.

So, let’s take a look at what to expect from the new update.

Map Changes

The biggest change in the coming patch appears to be the map changes. Epic Games confirmed that the Borderlands content would be cycled out of the game by September 10, which many expected to be the day of the update.

While that content is still available, the Rift Beacons at Paradise Palms and the frozen lake location have activated, signaling the start of a major map reshuffle.

Ziplines to return

The Ziplines were temporarily disabled back on September 6, taking another travel feature away from Fortnite players.

While the developer’s Trello page suggests that a fix will be deployed in an upcoming update, Fortnite leaker RiftFNBR believes that they will return in patch v10.30. Of course, this is unconfirmed and best taken with a pinch of salt, but they can’t be too far away from returning.

Bug Fixes

According to the same leaker, a number of new and frustrating bugs will also be rectified in the v10.30 update.

They tweeted: “The following problems will be fixed in the v10.30 patch: Some players are unable to report others during a replay because they get stuck at the “Sending Report…” screen. – When players open the map POI names may not display.”

When will the Fortnite v10.30 patch be released?

While we don’t have official confirmation in terms of when the update will go live, however, it will likely require some in-game downtime to get everything up-and-running.

Patches also tend to occur earlier in the day than content updates, with Epic regularly confirming that this happens at 1AM EST/4AM EST/9AM BST/10AM CEST. That shouldn’t change this time around, but we’ll update if the developers drop a later time.

So, that’s everything we know about the v10.30 update. As things change, we’ll continue to update you on all the news and latest happenings.
